Unit Type Profile

Top

This profile is optional and defines a unit type. Each profile must have a Record ID consisting of an ID field and a Long Description field which uniquely identifies that profile record.

The unit type is part of the unit profile. It is an optional field.

Having different unit type profiles defined saves data entry time when setting up multiple family residences and properties with units that have similar specifications.

Same for All Units

All fields in the profile except for the Record ID are optional. However, if they are all filled in and the Same for All Units boxes are all checked, then those fields will be filled in with the appropriate data in the Unit Profile when the Unit Type is selected and the fields in the Unit Profile will be protected. In addition, updating those fields in the Unit Type profile will update them in the Unit Profiles.

Categories

Setting up a unit type that includes the categories you want for all units is quick way of having the fields available to fill in. A list of amenities and other listing and welcome type items can be pre-set categories. (See Category Examples)

Unit type categories are no different than unit categories except where they are located. Unit type categories are accessed and updated from the Unit Type folder button in the Unit Profile. Unit categories are accessed and updated from the Categories tab of the Unit Profile. The categories assigned to the Unit Type profile are the same for every unit with that Unit Type. They cannot be made specific to the unit unless they are selected on the categories tab of the unit profile.
