The process of recording transactions against a ledger. Posting a charge records that a tenant owes money for something and to whom it is owed. Posting a receipt from a tenant may pay off several charges, causing the tenant ledger to be updated and the owner ledger to be credited. If it is a rent payment, additional transactions posted could include a management fee taken from the owner’s ledger and credited to the management group.
The Post button updates the ledgers based on the information entered on the screen. It then closes the function and takes you to the previous function or to the Taskbar.
Note: In some cases you will get additional prompts prior to exiting, e.g. when posting checks you will be prompted to print checks.
