Fields
A Building profile can be created whenever you manage multiple units at the same address, e.g. duplex, quad, apartment building, shopping center, parking lot, self storage units. Reports when prepared for a building include the transactions for all units that are part of the Building. Defining a building and setting up the different unit types lets you set up the units very quickly.
Each profile must have a Record ID consisting of an ID (short description) field and a Long Description field which uniquely identifies that profile record.
The Building profile is used in conjunction with the Unit name to set up multi unit buildings.
Unit Name
This field is used when you create a unit that is part of this Building. It creates the long description of the Record ID in the Unit Profile.
In the Building profile, enter the building name or the word "Unit" or "Apartment" followed by asterisks.
When a unit profile is created and a building profile is selected, typing the ID and hitting the tab key search for the first number in that ID. That first number and any numbers and characters following will be substituted on a one-for-one basis for the asterisks and used as the long description.
